Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Mettler Toledo Product Inspection Division is seeking a Product Line Manager, Vision for its Lutz, Florida location.  The Key objective for the Product Line Manager, Vision is to secure continued and sustainable profitable growth. To fulfill this objective, the tasks and responsibilities of the job will include, but are not limited to, driving Margin Improvements through pricing, product mix and product positioning. Sales Growth must be pursued through collaboration with the Product Line Manager, PIUS-MO Sales and Marketing departments on all initiatives and campaigns aimed at Brand strengthening, market segment management, new product launches, sales booster initiatives and Key Account support.

The Product Line Manager will work closely with the PIUS-PO and SBU Product Managers on all Product Development, Cost and Quality initiatives, to ensure that the annual product line growth plans are aligned with the overall and global targets for the Vision SBU. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly with the SBU Vision and the Sales department of PIUS-MO, manage the Vision product line life cycle (including PCE) from strategic planning to tactical execution in the Americas.
  • Lead the Sales and Service departments of PIUS-MO in growing the profitable Vision Product and Service sales through the MT PI sales channels and for meeting/exceeding product line sales and profitability targets. Key aspects are USPs of MT Vision and value selling.
  • Provide data analysis and inspiration to PIUS Leadership, the Marketing Department and the Strategic Business Unit (SBU), in all efforts to generate leads and sales tools, to support the sales of Vision products and Service.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future Vision products by conducting market research supported by regular customer visits.
  • In conjunction with the SBU Vision and PIUS-MO Sales management, own, develop and implement new product launch programs.
  • Own and execute pricing structure for the entire Vision Product portfolio, including all non-standard pricing, and propose price increases on a periodic basis, based on competitive strengths and market developments.   
  • Lead the Vision efforts at tradeshows and travel to customer sites with Regional Sales Managers and Sales Reps as needed to ensure the profitable growth of the Vision business segment.
  • Act as a liaison between PIUS-MO and its internal METTLER TOLEDO suppliers as needed to execute the growth and profitability targets.

What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field and 2 years of related experience, which must include:
  • Developing and executing product line growth strategies;
  • Sales of capital equipment to the food and pharmaceutical industries;
  • Project Management;
  • Managing customer and partner relationships;
  • Working with large data sets to analyze and report findings to leadership, such as industry trends, growth opportunities or areas for improvement;
  • Developing pricing strategies and performing margin and cost analysis;
  • Working with vision inspection systems combined with commercial training such as customer facing sales or service experience; and
  • Experience and success in leading projects across cross-functional, global teams such as new product launches and market research projects.

Must be able to travel both nationally and internationally up to 25% of the time to customer accounts, tradeshows, industry events, trainings and other Mettler units.  May work from home one day per week only.
