Field Sales Representative - SD, CA

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities


This position is responsible for the sales of Rainin’s unique liquid handling solutions to customers in pharmaceutical, biotech, academic and other fields of Life Sciences. The Field Sales Representative maintains effective customer relations, develops opportunities for growth and supports customer applications. Utilizing a value-selling approach, the field sales representative will establish relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders including end-users, procurement managers, and scientific operations leaders to drive Rainin solutions. 

Some of the responsibilities of this role include: 
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to grow sales
  • Achieve all sales targets by growing business within defined account base
  • Maintain active customer engagement through daily field visits to client sites to conduct product demonstrations, seminars, training, business reviews and more
  • Follow established CRM guidelines for Lead-Activity-Opportunity-Order process to drive effective pipeline management
  • Maintain integrity of pipeline over time but updating relevant information on an ongoing basis.

What You Need to Succeed


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a life sciences discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 2 or more years of customer-facing experience in Laboratory or life sciences is a plus
  • Ability to learn new products
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Working knowledge of: SAP, CRM, Excel, Remote Meeting Tools & Email
  • Ability to work effectively with Sales and Service Support teams, in a highly variable and high-pressure environment
  • 3-4 days of local travel is required within the San Diego, CA territory
