The Manager Planning & Scheduling - Mfg. Operations will lead a team of Master Schedulers and Production Planners. This role is responsible to develop, communicate, and execute end-to-end product demand and supply plans across all functional groups, while balancing customer requirements and production capabilities. This position acts as the subject matter expert on Production Planning & Scheduling as well as demand planning, and is part of the PIUS Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization, reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, direct, implement, oversee, and train less experienced employees on Production Planning for the different PIUS product lines
  • Perform complex data and business analysis on operations planning metrics, identifying gaps and scenarios that must be addressed
  • Lead collaboration efforts regarding PIUS demand and supply plans with PIUS operational capabilities and intercompany supplier capacity as part of the planning process
  • As the subject matter expert for Production Planning & Scheduling, will interface with Product Management, Marketing Organization, Order Management, Operations, and Procurement 
  • Works closely with and makes recommendations to Finance Department in preparing budget and outlook data. Lead a team of Master Schedulers and Production Planners, who plans and executes customer orders and supply chain activities to achieve company objectives related to customer delivery schedules, revenue targets, and inventory investment while utilizing a range of data, modeling, and planning tools to balance demand and capacities. 
  • Oversee performance, and ensure that forecast accuracy, inventory targets, delivery key metrics, and customer service requirements are achieved
  • As the subject matter expert for Production Planning & Scheduling, will play a key role in Sales & Operations Planning, and Execution (S&OP and S&OE) activities.
  • Execute human capital processes including goal setting, performance reviews, merit planning, human capital planning, recognition, and career development for all direct reports 





What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Exposure within a technical engineering environment, especially Engineered-to-order
  • Working knowledge of Production Control methods and Demand/Capacity Planning
  • Ability to work within a team environment using consensus building to achieve a desired result, has excellent verbal and written communication and teambuilding skills 
  • Leadership and supervisory skills, combined with the ability to build talent within the team through coaching, opportunities and team growth by fostering an environment that is a destination for talent. 
  • Results oriented with the demonstrated ability to apply strategic and decisive problem-solving skills in ambiguous situations. 
  • Ability to create and analyze processes including development & monitoring of performance metrics associated with those processes. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate with senior management. 
  • Advanced Excel skills required to include, but not be limited to, advanced formulas, charting, macros, and pivot tables
  • ERP Experience within a planning & production environment; SAP knowledge a plus

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Mettler-Toledo will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • 10 years of experience in Production Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, or Material Planning


Travel Requirements: 
This position has a travel requirement of up to 10%.  Travel could include both domestic and international travel (by commercial or personal means, including economy class air travel).
