Role/Purpose:

The Application Center Manager role involves overseeing, refining and optimizing daily Apps Center operations and the activities of Apps Specialists and Apps Engineers. Key goals include running the Apps Center safely and efficiently, supporting sales channels in conducting and overseeing customer product tests, providing superior quality and highly competitive test reports and owning all aspects of the Apps Center, including employees, equipment, processes, supplies, databases and documentation. He/She will also provide technical subject matter expertise to other departments while providing assistance on related operational activities such as, but not limited to, competitive analysis, R&D for special applications and hosting customer and industry partner visits. Additionally, the Apps Center manager will also liase with the Global Apps team to share best practices and harmonize testing methodologies, processes and documentation. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Applications Center and provide guidance and leadership to the Apps Team.
  • Create roadmaps for direct reports and mentor/motivate team members to perform at the highest level; increase team competency in providing high quality, customer-centric test results for customer applications.
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce operational costs and increase quality. Examples include, but are not limited to, e-demos, six sigma programs, SQDC charts and cross-technology training programs. 
  • Maintain Apps Center designated PI equipment performance. Establish quality standards, maintain procedures, schedule preventive maintenance, and arrange new equipment purchase and/or replacement/service/repair. 
  • Apply Project Management best practices to ensure key Apps Center projects are completed on time, within budget and within scope, ensuring business expectations are met or exceeded. 
  • Generate, update and manage project management organizational assets for the Apps Center such as presentations, project trackers, charters, communication maps, etc.- to be utilized on special projects conducted within the Application Center. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise to all departments within PIUS, our Agents and Customers. Share and expound technology knowledge within the overall TEAM.
  • Generate reports that provide value-added feedback to influence positive change within the organization such as rep scorecards and Apps Center performance data.
  • Equip field sales teams with highly effective application test reports, test images and product files for simulators and other related material to aid in helping them secure opportunities in highly competitive environments.
  • Host customer demos and assist with product testing to ensure KPIs meet or exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate with Global App Center teams to leverage best practices and harmonize processes, practices and documentation, provided it meets local market needs. 
  • Assist in developing and providing standard training programs and application tools to assist cross-functional team members. 
  • Know, follow and help create SOPs.
  • Ensure team members in the Apps Center follow safety policies and guidelines. 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, sustaining job related certifications, reviewing professional publications and establishing business networks.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required by the Sales Engineering Manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be extremely organized, efficient, detail-oriented, innovative and effective problem-solver 
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills and presentation skills (written and verbal), as well as excellent interpersonal skills to foster interaction within all levels of the organization, clients and subcontractors 
  • Experience with computerized office systems and software (i.e., Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Visio)
  • Must be able to meet difficult deadlines.
  • Support and conform to 6S objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Be able to interpret different learning style requirements and adapt training to the various styles as required.

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • 5 years or more experience with Project Management. 
  • BS or equivalent technical experience in Project Management or Engineering.
