Summary

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and executing appropriate data techniques and methods to enable increased insight into the business by various global stakeholders. This will be accomplished by leveraging existing in-house tools and methods, as well as introducing new processes based on relevant industry and educational experience. Global stakeholders will include multiple functions such as Marketing, Sales, Service, Finance, and Product Development.

Senior Pricing Analysts work with complex data sets to help businesses manage prices to gain market share and achieve financial goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Introduction of new analytics and visualizations that help global senior management gain insight and make decisions. This will be accomplished by:
? Leveraging and improving upon existing tools (SQL, Access, Vendavo, BI, Tableau/Power BI, R/Python, and KNIME) to create reports and dashboards that can be used by internal stakeholders.
? Introducing and establishing new technologies and processes (e.g., Database, Statistical Modelling, and Visualization) to enhance ability to deliver business insights.
? Provide recommendation and guidance to internal stakeholders based upon quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Communicating effectively with multiple levels of management. This includes tailoring results and recommendations to meet the needs of different audiences.
• Providing reports and analysis related to price realization for all key products and key segments within each local market.
• Developing specific actionable recommendations with reports to assist units in achieving and exceeding price targets.
• Analyzing win / loss data to better understand the key underlying drivers impacting price realization in each local market
• Managing Strategic Pricing projects to implement price harmonization across regions; supporting analyses and synthesis of macro-economic data to help set global prices.
• Supporting the development of various toolkits to supplement the application and utilization of pricing concepts and ideas
• Pricing transaction analysis including cost-to-serve, price banding and transaction waterfalls, promotion effectiveness, discounting controls and customer segmentation.
• Supporting global deal desk for strategic negotiations; analyzing yearly sales and pricing performance of customers, benchmark discounts against similar key accounts; evaluating impact on total revenue and margin; and review payment & shipping terms within a contract
• Managing Vendavo online application
• Other duties may be assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Education, Experience & Skills
 
• A bachelor's in a business or technical discipline
• An MBA with a specialty in one of the following areas is desired: Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Economics
• Pricing specific courses or seminars highly desired
• CPP (Certified Pricing Professional) certification valued
• 5+ years in a global corporate environment
• Experience in B2B companies highly desired
• Experience with:
? Project management
? Product management
? Stake-holder management in a matrix environment
? Driving action and change through presentations to mid-level and senior management
• Strong analytical skills with significant quantitative analysis experience. Ability to synthesize quantitative information and communicate observations, implications and conclusions in a business context
• Exposure to pricing theory and practice. Ability to take sound pricing principals and apply to various businesses within Mettler Toledo
