Telesales Supervisor, Newton, MA

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Mettler Toledo Rainin is currently looking for a Telesales Manager in Newton, MA.  In addition to managing their own sales territory (sales targets, pipelines and customers), the Telesales Manager provides tactical support for the Newton Telesales team.  Duties include assisting Representatives with problem resolution, weekly call-ins, training/skill development (phone presence, active listening, role plays, etc.), opportunity targeting/tracking and joint field visits.  Duties also include developing a comprehensive plan to ensure broad penetration of accounts with Rainin solutions, understanding customer requirements from both a business and technical perspective.

Responsibilities include the following:
  • Maintaining your own sales territory (sales targets, pipelines, and customers).
  • Maintaining focus on opportunity pipelines for assigned Representatives to assure constant flow of orders.
  • Developing and maintaining consistent forecasting accuracy. Providing insight into training and standards to improve Telesales growth and effectiveness.
  • Contributing to the development of marketing and sales strategies to expand the growing national business. Successfully assess trends, problems, and revenue opportunities 
  • Training and development of assigned Telesales personnel. Determining individual training requirements and supervising the training of all new and existing team members. Developing training manuals and programs to enhance skill base. 
  • Ensuring all sales and customer issues are addressed and responded to in a timely and professional manner. Investigating and resolving customer problems and/or complaints ensuring customer satisfaction. Developing and maintaining excellent relations with internal and external customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. 
  • Collaborating with Field Sales Representatives to develop synergies that improve growth opportunities for Telesales. Collaborating with Marketing, Service, Customer Service and Management to execute strategy through assigned territories.  Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate successfully with all company employees.
  • Assisting with sales communication to client/prospect base in assigned territories, i.e. templates for personalized mails, product guides, bulk mails, pitches, special quotes.
  • Setting an example in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational skills, performance, sales skills, work habits, and daily routine.
  • Ensuring the team is articulating the Mettler Toledo Rainin value proposition consistently in all customer interactions.
  • Occasionally traveling to conventions and customer meetings.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in a life science area.
  • 3 plus years of sales experience preferrably in the life sciences.
  • 2 plus years as a Senior Sales Representative mentoring and training other team members.
  • A strong sales drive. Proven ability to sell and consistently exceed sales quotas. 
  • Leadership ability to influence, develop and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach. Coaching, mentoring and team-building skills and a passion to exceed our customers’ expectations.
  • Technical competency in product knowledge, product application and product positioning. Strong understanding of the consultative sales approach.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail including excellent organizational, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, evaluate and make decisions.
  • Good time management skills in implementing and executing successful plans of action that balance your sales activities with customer needs and account development.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%.
