Project Manager (Engineering/Manufacturing)

We are currently recruiting for an energetic Project Manager. This position will be responsible for establishing and managing assigned Projects across Product Marketing and Operations with a principle focus on technology and product development projects. You will be working with other key stakeholders as this position helps allocate resources, prioritize resources in order to develop and execute product development projects consistent with the overall product roadmap and planned product releases. The position is the Process Owner for the Project Management processes and the tools used in these processes.   • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with key Project Stakeholders to create strong initial requirements specifications (such as Marketing Requirements for Product Development projects, or Project Requirements for internal projects) and manage these requirements throughout the development cycle using effective verbal and written communication. 
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to translate Requirements Specifications (marketing and project) into Requirements Engineering documentation. 
  • Manage traceability matrix to ensure strong tie between engineering activities and market requirements.
  • Work with Heads of Product Marketing and R&D to identify technology gaps and related future requirements that fill technology development funnel.
  • Actively integrate with product development team to deliver quality products according to defined processes and best practices.  Ensure products are designed to meet market requirements and fully documented, tested and released.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring for project management and requirements engineering to personnel across all THOR sites.
  • Ensure development and implementation of formal processes and tools to support effective project management and requirements engineering.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project plans including overall phase schedules and milestones, critical path, project work-breakdown structures, work scope definitions and resource requirements.
  • Prioritize, assign and communicate tasks to project team members, monitor project activities and drive projects to completion with agreed performance, delivery timeline and cost targets.
  • Facilitate collaboration between team-members and internal departments and clearly define project deliverables, to ensure proper execution of project tasks.
  • Effectively identify, communicate and mitigate project risks.  Escalate as necessary to obtain additional support to overcome risks.
  • Monitor and report status of the project to key stakeholders on a periodic basis.
  • Ensure timely creation and maintenance of project deliverables according to the PLM Framework.
  • Champion the use and further improvement of processes, tools and best practices that support project execution, improve project team effectiveness and are aligned with the METTLER TOLEDO PLM Framework.
  • Incorporate lean techniques as appropriate into product development to shorten time to market and improve the product portfolio.
  • Pursue smooth product transfers into manufacturing and early success of products in the market.  Understands Design for Manufacturability/Supply Chain/Service and incorporates this into project plans and requirements.
  • Defines and executes special projects as needed.

What You Need to Succeed

The successful candidate must demonstrate a passion for the delivery of high quality projects on time and at cost.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering
  • Minimum of One to Three years of experience as Project Manager using a formal NPDI Stage-Gate PLM Framework
  • Experience working in a matrixed project environment
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating teams and/or projects in a technical, engineering environment
  • PMP Certification or equivalent is a significant advantage.
  • Willingness to obtain PMP Certification within 2 years is required.
  • LEAN experience preferred
  • SAP knowledge and SAP Business Intelligence Reporting preferred.  
  • Experience with ISO 9001:201x required. 
  • Expert proficiency in MS Project.
