Our Opening and Your Responsibilities


The ideal candidate will use his/her extensive Mechanical engineering experience to:

  • Manage and mitigate the overall risk of projects through documentation, planning, prioritization, understanding of and communication of risk issues and critical tasks.
  • Provide regular updates to all stakeholders on project status, development progress, and project success.
  • Be the bridge between internal departments and facilitate the development of pro-active inter-departmental communication and cooperation.
  • Serve as a focal point for project resources for both internal and external stakeholders as appropriate, resolving issues as needed.
  • For assigned projects, develop a deep understanding of the product(s) clinical purpose, important features, and technical challenges.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the project(s) regulatory and quality strategy, as well as a working knowledge of the prioritization of the project(s) within the company portfolio, and its delivery to the market.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, and costs to ensure all remain on track to the satisfaction of internal stakeholders, contract or vendor commitments, and with financial performance targets; Initiate and implement appropriate actions to proactively manage the change control process both internally and externally.
  • Ensure completion of quality control and risk management project deliverables according to regulatory and internal manufacturing standards and requirements.
  • Create and manage variance to required project plans. Per SOPs, implement and monitor progress against internal engineering and PLM requirements, and revise project plans as necessary, providing performance feedback to team member’s respective supervisors.
  • Aid in development and maintenance of key project performance indicators for Project Review Board and Key Stakeholders, ensuring that the KPIs are within scope of the project.
  • Support continuous improvement of the Project Management Office capabilities through optimizing processes or procedure steps within the scope of design control.
  • Define and manage project resource needs for key resources.

What You Need to Succeed

Applicants should have the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other comparable technical degree.  MS preferred.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of Project Management experience, Preferably in related industry such as precision lab-grade liquid handling systems, laboratory instrumentation for the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, or high volume precision hand-held devices.
  • Significant past experience in Project Management of Product development or SW / FW development projects.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, testing, tolerance analysis and troubleshooting
  • Designing Hand held products and associated molded housings is a plus.
  • Experience with using computer-aided analytical tools such as FEA software a plus
  • Experience in high volume injection molding and associated materials a plus
  • Experience with ISO 9000 and Product Life Cycle Management a plus
  • Design, execution and analysis of DOE's is a plus.
