Supply Chain Value Engineer, Global Procurement

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will join Global Supply Chain Management which serves as our global procurement function responsible for standardizing electronic and electromechanical product groups at the regional or global level. You will work strategically with our suppliers and apply value engineering principles to help with cost management and time to market. In this role, your responsibilities would include: 
  • Implementing value engineering and its related processes, roles and responsibilities within Mettler-Toledo.
  • Serving as the process owner within the product lifecycle across our various business lines.
  • Supporting units around the globe implementing and running in a sustainable way, coaching all in value engineering-related projects.
  • Working closely with Supply Chain Engineers, Module Engineers and Category Managers within Procurement to find potential cost reductions. 
  • Building, managing and running our global value engineering expert team with unit participants from all over the world.
  • Tracking and reporting on achievements globally.
  • Working with suppliers to ensure integration. Organizing training sessions globally.

What You Need to Succeed

  • A bachelor or master degree in engineering
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Value or Supply Chain Engineering, design for manufacturability and standardization
  • Work experience in an international matrix driven company is a plus
  • Experience in Lean Management like JIT, TPM, 5S (Kaizen)
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic competencies
  • Strong negotiator and influencer with proven project management skills, able to deal with complex initiatives and to lead through persuasion with all levels and cultures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with proven record of successfully presenting to all levels of a global organization
  • Language skills in German and/or Chinese is a plus
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
