Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Designs quality systems using manufacturing procedures within Mettler Toledo’s guidelines while maintaining the schedule
  • Designs systems based on design-function relationships, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, production costs, and client specifications
  • Work with Production and outside vendors to understand process capabilities and develop ideas that reduce costs and improve quality
  • Act as a mentor and leader to the other Engineers and Designers
  • Occasional travel preferred (up to 15% annually) for customer site surveys, off-site training or meetings, trade shows, visits with vendors, and other opportunities

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Requires a tactful and diplomatic personality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • Self-starter (can work without supervision)
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Experience dealing with all types of people

Prerequisites (Education, Experience):

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred or a Technical Degree with a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience
  • Drafting Skills
    • Autodesk Inventor
    • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Experience in automated machinery design in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with conveyors or material handling preferred
