Trade Compliance Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

To our growing team we are looking for Trade Compliance Specialist who will ensure that the company complies with international trade regulations, including customs, sanctions, export and import restrictions and other legislation. Your main focus will be on European market. 

Your tasks:
  • Establish accurate TARIFF classifications across a very broad assortment of products, components, materials, and spare parts; and maintain appropriate material master data.
  • Maintain Country of Origin for products, components, materials and spare parts in the material master data.
  • Establish classification worksheets to support item classifications.
  • Broker Management:
    • Import monitoring and checks (correct codes and duties, correct deferment accounts) - Coordinating and enforcing corrections with brokers,
    • Support customs inquiries,
    • Acting on request if records/information are requested by the Unit or the Carrier/Broker,
    • Secure correct customs documentation,
    • Filing of Import records.
  • Execute assigned projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all customs rules and regulations.
  • Support establishment of an exchange platform with the Trade Compliance counterparts in the different regions.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Minimum of 2-3 year of experience in export, import or logistics in international business (cross border), 
  • Analytical skills, precise working method, detail orientation,
  • Very good knowledge of English (minimum B2),
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders,
  • Experience in international Order or Delivery Management or experience in international business at a freight forwarding or import-/exporting company.

This would be your additional asset: 
  • Knowledge of SAP (or other ERP system), BI, SAP HANA, SAC and reporting,
  • Customs Agent/Broker (license would be an asset).
