Strategic Pricing Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Strategic Pricing Manager is responsible for developing recommendations on the pricing of new products and services as well as appropriate adjustments to existing portfolios based on changing market conditions. This will be accomplished by leveraging relevant experience and developing a deep understanding of our business, solutions, strategy, customers and value propositions. The Strategic Pricing Manager will also support the evaluation of new contracts by developing recommendations on proposed pricing structures and an assessment of all commercial terms in an effort to achieve business and financial objectives. 

  • Managing Strategic Pricing projects to drive price harmonization across regions; supporting analyses and synthesis of macro-economic data to help set global prices. 
  • Providing recommendations on the pricing of new products and services as well as appropriate adjustments to existing portfolios based on changing market conditions 
  • Developing and implementing strategic pricing tools, processes, and reporting methods 
  • Partnering with strategic business units to develop and implement short as well as long term pricing initiatives. 
  • Supporting the evaluation of new contracts; analyze yearly sales and pricing performance of customers, benchmark discounts against similar key accounts; evaluate impact on total revenue and margin; and review all commercial terms within a contract 
  • Driving pricing strategy and translate business goals into price strategies for existing business and new opportunities. Partner with the Commercial teams to gain buy-in and maximize impact. 
  • Reviewing publicly available competitor information, customer feedback, and market trends to inform specific recommendations. Compiles reports and analysis that helps position products in specific bids or regions. 
  • Leveraging market data, insights, commercial feedback and a deep understanding of pricing best practices to lead deal-specific pricing strategy, execution and profitability assessment. 
  • Pricing transaction analysis including cost-to-serve, price banding and transaction waterfalls, promotion effectiveness, discounting controls and customer segmentation. 
  • Ad-hoc analytics and visualizations to optimize pricing performance and help global senior management gain insight and make decisions. 
  • Communicating effectively with multiple levels of management. This includes tailoring results and recommendations to meet the needs of different audiences. 
  • Analyzing win / loss data to better understand the key underlying drivers impacting price realization in each local market

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's in business or technical discipline 
  • MBA is desired in marketing, finance, strategy or economics 
  • Pricing specific courses or seminars highly desired 
  • 8+ years in a multi-national corporate environment 
  • Experience in B2B companies strongly preferred Experience with: 
    • New Product Introduction 
    • Contract execution and deal management 
    • Setting List Prices for new markets 
    • Project management 
    • Product management 
    • Stake-holder management in a matrix environment 
    • Presentations to mid-level and senior management
