Field Sales Specialist - Life Science

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Field Sales Specialist to join our team in the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology and experience with life science instrumentation. In this role, you will drive sales of a wide range of products and services relevant to the Life Science sector, ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs. You will develop and implement go-to-market strategies to support effective product adoption across diverse applications.

You will be responsible for developing long-term, high-value, profitable customer accounts by building and maintaining both existing and new relationships using strong sales techniques. Identifying and managing high-quality opportunities in a collaborative manner, utilising all available resources, will be key to your success.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Drive sales of Rainin Pipettes and analytical instruments including cell counting, plate reading, UV/VIS spectroscopy, and pH measurement, ensuring customers receive tailored solutions that optimize laboratory workflows.
  • Identify and engage potential customers in the life sciences sector such as research institutions, universities, and biotechnology firms.
  • Conduct needs assessments to understand customer challenges and collaborate to tailor product solutions.
  • Work with the life sciences steering committee to develop and refine go-to-market strategies based on market research and customer insights.
  • Participate in training and cross-functional meetings to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Provide feedback to guide product development based on customer experiences.
  • Achieve sales and growth targets within the assigned territory in the Life Science sector.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, logging visits, bookings, and calls consistently.
  • Prepare and execute account penetration plans for defined focus accounts.
  • Utilize CRM and SET tools to support the sales process aligned with company strategic goals and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to organize and participate in webinars, seminars, and trade shows.
  • Provide cross-leads to service and other business units and manage incoming leads.
  • Provide accurate monthly sales forecasts and updates during bi-weekly calls.

What You Need to Succeed

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably within life science instrumentation or related industries.
  • A strong understanding of life science applications and laboratory workflows, with the ability to communicate value propositions clearly.
  • Proven capability to engage customers effectively by identifying their pain points and proposing suitable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building strong relationships and fostering collaboration.
  • Experience in developing sales strategies or playbooks is an advantage but not essential.
