Senior Payroll & Labour Specialist

METTLER TOLEDO has launched a multiyear global HR Transformation Program aimed at elevating the HR function to become a strong business enabler and to drive initiatives for creating exceptional employee experiences throughout the employee life cycle. This transformation will start with the global implementation harmonized HR Core processes, the setup of a European HR Shared Service Center and the implementation of a of modern HR technology that enables self-service and automation. 

As a Payroll & Systems Specialist, reporting to the Head of HR Spain you will join our local HR team and will play a vital role in supporting the Spanish organization on managing payroll and labour related processes at all levels (policies, processes but also impact on individual employees, people leaders and Company level), plus becoming our expert on HR related systems. 

Our view of this role is to bring payroll/labour processes to a next step with focus on adding value – when possible - to operational daily HR processes that impacts employees and the organization. 

Key Responsibilities: 
 • Payroll and labour expert: Manage and monitor the execution of the monthly (partially outsourced) payroll process for the entire workforce, complying with legal requirements. Coordinate with vendor and Finance department as needed. 
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and the automation of payroll and associated administrative processes. 
• Guarantee compliance with Spanish labor laws and correct application of collective bargaining agreement, supported by external providers (labor consultants, payroll platform, software vendor and others). 
• Manage and administer Benefits plan (health, restaurant, kindergarden, etc) with vendors and ensuring policies and practices are updated. Support individual employees with related queries and questions. 
 • Time & attendance: Management time& attendance systems and processes (absence, recording of working hours/attendance/absence); Creation of statistics, reports and training on use to employees/people managers. 
• Manage of documents and processes- as required- among the entire employee lifecycle: hirings, positions changes, terminations, and other (maternity/paternity leaves, sickness, disciplinary issues,) etc. Act as employee advisor when applicable. 
• Advise the HR team and people managers on labor regulations updates, adapting internal policies if appropriated and administrative labour matters. 
• Advanced user of HCM (SAP) related to structure and employee life cycle changes being involved in global digital transformation projects within HR. 
• HR Reporting Create ad-hoc reports as required for diverse purposes. Leads the implementation, usage and management of data onto the new HR system for the Spanish organization 
• Implementation and monitoring labour and diversity and inclusion, compliance related programmes such us: Gender Equity Plan (Plan de Igualdad) LGBTQ+ Plan ( Plan LGTBIQ+), Ley General de Discapacidad, among others •Collaboration with HR Teams: Work closely with the Europe shared service center in Poland, to ensure effective HR operations and employee experience.

Lo que necesitas

- Education Diploma/Bachelor's level in Labour Relations/Business/Economics and/or related fields. 
- Master/Diploma in Human Resources is a plus 
- Experience of at least 5 years in payroll management and labour relations functions with solid knowledge in payroll concepts and processes according to the Spanish laws 
- Experience on HR systems within multinational environments; SAP or Workday experience are a plus 
- High level of  both Spanish and English to participate in international projects/functional teams 
- Demonstrated experience in HR process/policies improvement, including automation of low value-added tasks 
- Excel: high level 
- Work experience acquired in an international environment / matrix organization is a plus. 
- Excellent communication skills (written/verbal), people and service oriented, team player and hands on approach
- Analytical and able to work autonomously
